2Arenado is owed $74M over the next three years (with $10M being paid by the Rockies). I had to add $20M just to get this to a "Moderate Overpay" and I don't see that much going back to the A's, but something could head their way to help absorb the contract (~$14M?). He's still a plus defender, plugs a huge hole at 3B for a few years, and adds some veteran leadership the A's tend to value. The Cardinals can move Walker back to 3B and let him sink or swim. Brown gives them depth at 1B and in the OF corners. Harris adds more depth around the infield.
As an A's fan, I would love to Arenado in Green & Gold. But there is no way he'd waive his NTC to go to Sacramento.
