This trade should work for the Rays, but …. Davis is awful as a catcher and he’s pretty slow for the outfield. Rays do need a RHB at 1B/DH if they trade Diaz though, but is that a good enough return for Diaz? Swap Davis for Rodriguez and it’s a no-brainer trade for the Rays.
I'm gonna speak from Cleveland's point of view... The deal isn't bad, but I don't think Cleveland is going to believe Faltner is an upgrade over Allen, Cantillo and the crew of guys they have at AAA... I don't think they would trade Humphries for him personally... Deal makes sense, but I don't see Cleveland being high enough on him to trade Humphries for him
