1Probably will never happen...but here's why it should: The Reds have tons and tons of young pitching. Lodolo took a step backwards and is now arbitration eligible. The Reds have so much pitching, they should choose pitching to move for an impact bat. Yandy could be that bat. He had an awful April, then ate pitchers alive for the rest of the year, so much so that Steamer thinks Yandy is the 16th best bat in 2025, projecting a 136 wRC+. The Rays do this deal because they are in their element when it comes to getting the most out of pitching. Lodolo had a premium K% til his injury riddled 2024. A 45% ground ball rate and a 25% K rate is extremely intriguing, and a healthy year could produce premium results. I believe Baz and Littell are traded, so there will be an opening in the Rays rotation, and Yandy being traded opens a spot for Morel and Aranda to play their natural positions: DH, with some mingling at first base.
