1Thinking a little outside the box here. The Rays are probably headed into a Winter where they trade their remaining established bats (Y.Diaz and B.Lowe), so why not trade one of their best young bats too? J.Lowe isn’t established” yet, but he has shown he can walk the walk. Royals get him on the cheap from a total value standpoint, but pay up in quality. Fortunately for the Royals, they are drowning in quality catchers and their SS position should be just fine for the next decade. Trading Mitchell, Ricardo and a couple minor pitchers won’t exactly hurt them and the payoff is 4 years of a good COF. Rays probably won’t be competitive for at least 3-4 years anyway.
