3Cleveland would rather eat Straws contract than move him in a deal like this... They ate Segura's deal to get a prospect, why would they move Straws, which isn't nearly as high to get someone they don't want or need...
They'd deal Josh Naylor before attaching a prospect/player to Straw if they really needed the salary relief, right?
If they needed cap relief, it would likely be the two rentals they have in 25, which are Thomas and Naylor, who are due probably 20 million or so combined and both would be worth something in a trade... Cleveland actually isn't even strapped for payroll anyways since the owner said in Playoff years, he's willing to add more to the budget to aka get another EE type of deal to help them... Cleveland also has Manzardo, who had a strong finish and solid playoffs, so IF Naylor doesn't take an extension, he is a trade candidate anyways (Especially since I know they are gonna put in bids on Adames and Santander). Ps. I even posted a trade with Cleveland taking on a contract...
