LOL. Rays would never have wanted Haniger anyway, but they really won’t want him now. It’s a new world for the Tampa Bay Rays and that world does not involve spending money or contending in 2025/26. Rays just lost their stadium and broadcast deal. They will be playing under Pandemic level austerity for the next 3 years. That means pre-arb and minor leaguers are who the Rays want in trade returns. Also, the Rays have a good Pen and just installed Junior Caminero at 3B for the next 5+ years. Speier and Williamson are poor fits even without the other issues. Rays say no to this trade.
