2Down vote for the A's. Trading Rooker for Roberts would be a mistake, taking on Benintendi's contract an even bigger mistake.
I’d love to get Crochet in Boston and buy out his last two remaining arbitration years and add on 6 more for 8 total years, that’s what i see in this trade for the A’s. Taking on the two outfielders and their contracts are part of the cost of acquiring Crochet is the way I see it. I think teams should be able to work out the details of the extension before the trade happens. If you make the trade and are unable to come together on an extension it certainly makes things complicated and difficult.
