I could see the Rays trade Diaz and Fairbanks this Winter, but not for infielders. That was one of the focuses of their Deadline deals (the other being pitching) and they now have a minor league system over-flowing with infield talent at all levels, particularly in the upper minors where they have C.Williams (SS), B.Taylor (probably 2B), X.Isaac (1B), T.Morgan (1B) and C.Mead (though his star is fading). Also, 3B is now filled by Junior Caminero for the next half decade. Rays need immediate catching and outfield talent, or high ceiling minor leaguers who are far out.

I agree with you about the left side and 2B, but Isaac is still a year away and left handed, so I think the Rays would still value a right handed 1B who is ready to play in the majors right now. I think you could do something like Locklear + Canzone + any pitching prospect not named Logan Evans. Or you could do Harry Ford + Canzone. I think the Rays might have to add something there however.

Except for Yandy, all of the Rays' first basemen are left handed. That includes B.Lowe (who has played a lot of 1B this year), current call-ups Aranda and Shenton who are getting playing time in the Majors, B.Seymour in AAA, and both Isaac and Morgan in AA. If and when Yandy is traded, you could be right that the Rays will need to prioritize a RHB replacement, even if he's just a lefty masher who plays part time. As is though, the 1B/DH position is pretty heavily stocked. In fact, Issac received playing time in the outfield this week, and Morgan (who sports a 65 grade glove at 1B) has received playing time in the outfield from the start. I have no idea where the Rays are going to play all these guys in the future. Adding another high profile 1B to the system seems unlikely to me though. If they need a RHB who doesn't play every day, they'll probably go the H.Ramirez route (ie: a cast off from other teams who hits LHP well and doesn't cost anything). Canzone doesn't interest me personally, but I'd love to see the Rays acquire Ford.
