Unclear where Kristian Campbell’s long-term defensive home is, but he has the athleticism to profile in the outfield, where he spent much of his first taste of pro ball and appears to be moving full-time based on indications in spring training 2024, in AA Portland he has been playing 2B/SS/CF much like they did with Rafaela. He Is still learning the nuances of the outfield with his reads and routes, but has the raw athleticism and speed you look for out there and has slashed a video game-like .407/.507/.627 over 142 PA since his promotion to Double-A. He isn’t Rule 5 Draft Eligible until December 2026. The Red Sox take on all remaining financial obligations.
