3The Tigers get a grab bag of talent for an backup catcher's expiring contract and a late blooming reliever showing some promise.
Tyler Holton is more than showing promise. He had the lowest WHIP of any LH reliever last year at 0.89 and is following that up this year with a WHIP of 0.88. He is not a K pitcher, but he gets out righties and lefties and virtually no HR. He has started games, gone multiple innings frequently and has closed out a couple of games. He is vastly under rated here and around the league, has 4 more years of control and isn't going anywhere.
Thanks for feedback. With you...except definitely getting traded. He's a 28 year old reliever on a team not that's selling. I think both teams do well. Shenton's a rookie above average bat that plays both corner IF positions. Brock Jones is a 2nd rounder from 2 years ago. Johnson is an interesting SP prospect and the other dude was just traded for Aaron Civale. Both teams happy with this trade.
