This deal is for DaJoob. Not sure why Tyson Miller's value is so low (NEGATIVE NUMBER?). He makes 725K. Fangraphs has him at .3 WAR. Baseball Preference has him at .9. He has a .708 WHIP on the season. 1.101 Lifetime. And 4.4 years of team control.

I think if the Red Sox have playoff desire’s they won’t be moving either of their Catchers to keep the continuity and would rather not bring in another Catcher unless an injury were to happen in the next 7 games.

So if the Dodgers offered them Will Smith for, say, Reese McGuire, you'd say no?

Of course not, but I also don’t see anyone like him in this

That's not the point. You said that "if the Red Sox have playoff desire's (sic)," they wouldn't trade a catcher, and, of course, they would. It's all about the return. All this b.s. about having to learn the staff is just that --b.s. By the time a catcher has reached MLB he has caught dozens, if not hundreds, of pitchers. They go over the hitters before the game. Get a game plan for each hitter. If the pitcher doesn't like the sign, he can shake the catcher off. No big deal. Kind of stuff Hoyer says before the start of the season to rationalize not upgrading the position, as in not going after Joey Bart, then later waives Gomes and signs Nido. The lesson here, Dajuba, is everything time you think in terms of baseball cliches, you lose.
