2While this deal is close to even, numerically, it's not a deal that would interest the Angels as presented. The Angels would only agree to trade away one of their best pitching prospects if they would get over paid.. Adding a deep prospect would!! (someone like Tanner Burns or Jacob Zibin).. Even with either one of these two guys.. still probably not.. The Guardians would be thrilled with a return of Ky Bush..even if it meant over paying..
Cleveland unloads $9 million in salary while adding a AA guy with great raw stuff. Cleveland is far better at developing pitching than the Angels, who likely regret this decision in a couple of years. Meanwhile, short sighted Arte gets a plug and play SS behind Ohtani. Would Cleveland rather have Bachman, or are none of the Angels chips of interest?
