2If the Royals want to make a run, they're going to need to buy at the deadline. This trade provides them an everyday outfielder who has been hitting 128 wRC+ since May 1st (and hit 124 - 127 wRC+ from 2021-2023), plus the Rays set-up man. In return, the Royals give up their top prospect, who plays a position of excess for KC but a position of need for the Rays, plus a couple relief prospects. Both teams improve their areas of weakness.
I really see no scenario where Aroz is sold at this valuation. This valuation essentially means he's a non-tender candidate...which he's not.
