2Someone needs to explain how Acuna's value has dropped to 6.5 while he continues to improve his production while you got guys like Volpe valued at over 50 for stinking and SS Crawford with Seattle batting .200 with bad contract valued at over 30.0.
Values for prospects are sourced from the updated ratings of public evaluators. Acuna's stock has dropped in their eyes, likely because he's hitting 27% below league average (after hitting 24% below league average last year after he joined the Mets org). That's not going to cut it. Volpe has put up 2.3 fWAR so far this season, with gold-glove defense at a high-value position, is projected for 3.5 fWAR, and has 4.5 years of cheap control. Crawford put up 4.7 fWAR last year, is on track for 2.8 fWAR this year, also with gold-glove defense at a high-value position, and is on a very team-friendly contract through 2026.
