It's funny. I was trying to work Rays-Braves trades today, either for Caballero (SS) or Eflin (SP), and I struggled putting them together without one of AJSS, Waldrep or Schwellenbach. Take this trade. Ritchie is just returning from TJS, so he's probably not headlining any deal. Perdomo was the Braves' top Int'l Signee this year and teams don't trade those guys in the year they sign (because they won't get other players to sign with them in the future if they flip them so fast). Baldwin is a popular trade to the Rays because of their present lack of catchers at the ML level, but the Rays are really high on the guys they have in AA/AAA. I can see Baldwin traded to the Rays, but I don't think he's better than others in the Rays' system. I think Guanipa to the Rays makes a ton of sense though. So this trade doesn't work for me, particularly when because I think Eflin is sure to net a top 100 prospect for the Rays (and I am positive the Rays aren't trading Aroz for $8MM).
