I didn’t say that the Cubs are contenders. I don’t think that. I just posted a sell off deal minutes before I saw this insulting post. Either you’re delusional or misreading the situation. So, before going into attack mode, you might want to pay better attention. This s a loser of a deal for the Cubs. Assad is one of the top starters in MLB , even though his BTV evaluation doesn’t reflect it. PCA is not a throw-in. Belli is still relatively young and has value to the Cubs. Leiter is available.
It’s not a loser deal for the cubs are you insane??!! Cubs get the best 3rd base prospect in baseball right now! A piece they desperately need to cover! Assad is good but you’re forgetting the fact that the Cubs can just buy an even better pitcher in the offseason! PCA is struggling a bit at the majors while I’m sure he will get better, it’s not a huge sacrifice, especially when you have Owen’s ready to come up. You’re not getting Mayo without overselling! This helps fix a huge whole the cubs need by leaving some smaller sacrifices. Looking at your trades it makes sense why your score is negative lol you’re too biased and very uneducated how trades work. One team always sacrifices more in the beginning!! Looking at your trades you try to make everything fair and even or extremely biased… again makes sense why your likes are in the negatives lol
Disagree with half of the shit in this paragraph. Mayo is an excellent trade target but he’s not exactly a great fielding third basemen. PCA should be completely off the table. He could be a 3 WAR player on defense alone. If his hitting comes together, he’s an MVP level player. You may not need to overpay for Mayo if the Orioles are still in the playoff hunt and they really want Hoerner (or whoever). Assad is way more valuable than the measly 24.1. I think John likes to undervalue Assad to trigger Benjy.
The “total likes” and “total dislikes” in one’s profiles shows what they’ve given to other trades, not what they’ve been given for their own trades. My dislikes outpace my likes because I have to vote down all of Benjy’s knee jerk reaction trades and cold takes in the comments.
If anyone needs to worry about their mental health, it’s you. Worry about your own numbers and stop fixating on me. If you’re as smart as you claim to be, then you would know that minor league success doesn’t always translate into major league success. Morel’s OPS in AAA dwarf anything Mayo has done. And he’s hitting.200. I know trades and the Cubs like the back of my hand, and I am not going to give up last year’s Comeback Player of Year, former MVP, an 80 grade CF, top 50 prospect, top line starter and okay reliever on a maybe. Especially with Matt Shaw, who WILL outhit Mayo coming up, maybe as soon as next year.
