Honestly, I don't mind this deal, I don't think Cleveland wants to move Velazquez or Cantillo, but if this deal went down, I could live with it... ps. Not my idea, but someone was curious how it would work on this site... (I also believe Rengifo will be traded and Arias takes his spot if a deal like this goes down)
@Johnbitzer Velazquez has not even been playing catcher... He's been a pure 1B... This does effect his value some...
Highly doubtful this is the best deal the Angels get for Ward.

It's likely already baked in; we rely on public prospect evaluators for factoring in positions into their ratings, which they almost always do.

Sorry, but I keep noticing issues with the players for the Guardians... Bilous was cut before the season started... Broom and Lewis aren't even playing baseball right now for anyone, Tucker, Cedrola, Doxakis have been cut, Reny Artiles is likely going to be cut after the draft. Isaiah Greene needs to be like a .5 or less... Why you guys don't have Austin Peterson is a travesty... He's literally been one of the best pitchers in all the minor leagues. Can we please get him added? Also Cleveland needs Ryan Webb added... As long as he doesn't get injured he will be on Cleveland's 40 man come this November...
Thanks, all the cut players have been updated. It can be difficult keeping track of the bottom end of rosters, so appreciate the heads-up there. As for Peterson and Webb, neither show up on the latest BA top 30 Guardians team list, and neither are ranked by FG on the board either. We are not prospect evaluators, so we don't add guys who are not on public lists because we don't have anything to go on to determine what their values would be. But since they're not on BA or FG, we can only assume their values would be very low even if they were added.
No offense to Fangraphs or BA, but they are horrible with evaluating Cleveland's prospects... Cleveland doesn't allow outside scouting at practices and whatnot so those guys only see game work... Austin Peterson has literally been one of the top minor league pitchers this season according to Fangraphs stats... It's actually a joke no place has him ranked... 10-2... 2.34 ERA with 107 SOs and 9 BBs in 103.2 innings between A+ and AA... 6 of those walks came in two games... That's ridiculous numbers at any level...
So take it up with those outlets. We're just the number-crunchers, not the evaluators.
Trust me I get that, but when Fangraphs has a player ranked in the minors as top 5 in literally every category for a minor league pitcher and he's not ranked, that's kind of a bit of bs as a fan of that team... Also, IF Cleveland trades for a starter with years of control, it's extremely likely he would be in the deal...
