3Red Sox should consider a strike early approach and see if they can’t get Winckowski signed to an extension, 6yrs $27.5m, buying out his remaining 4yrs of control (3 arb yrs) and adding 2 more years, $1.25m, $2.25m, $3.25m, $5.25m, $7.25m, $8.25m.
This trade would be suicidal for the Red Sox. They simply don't have the pitching to trade away at this point. Besides their biggest need is a shortstop not second baseman.
Red Sox have two very good SS prospects coming up, I don’t think they need weither uless it’s a rental.
