SF: Another early season bullpen implosion for the Giants has cost them a few wins this year (not as many as the offense, but offense is fixable internally). Now, last year they started bad and went on to be one of the best bullpens in the league, but this year's version seems to be much more concerning. The Rogers brothers have a home run problem, and the bulk of bullpen innings has relied upon 3 brand new rookies, Erik Miller, Landen Roupp, and Kai Wi Teng. All 3 are very talented and Miller and Roupp contribute two of the best pitches in the farm system, but they can not be relied upon in big game, high leverage situations. Another reinforcement in the rotation via Alex Cobb should be back soon, likely pushing Keaton Winn to the bullpen in a long relief role, which will be a needed boost to the pen as well, but they need another late game guy seeing how Jordan Hicks is determined to pitch his way into being a rotation mainstay. Hunter Harvey fixes that. He immediatly slots into an 8th inning role, and can spell Camilo Doval rest when needed. The Giants likely will not want to part with a top 12 prospect, given how Harvey would not be the closer, but Brown, a conscensus top 30 and one of 2022's breakout prospects, has more than enough upside for the rebuilding Nats to take the deal. WAS: Nationals appear on the way to another abysmal season. They will likely once again try to ship out thier best veteran players, like Lane Thomas and Harvey. Harvey doesn't have much value on a team this bad (though they did just wack my favorite team, the Giants, last night). Perhaps a team such as the Orioles, who have a dire need for a high octane, high leverage arm, offer something better, given the state of thier system compared to SF, but Brown is a super toolsy, high upside mid aged outfielder who is in double A only because he got injured last year. He would join a system that would add to an already deep and elite outfielder prospect pool. Brown is ranked as MLB.com's #15 Giants prospect, and in my list, I am not as high on him given his injury history and age, is at #28.

Nats decline. They already have Brown-like players in spades. Hassell and Young are both speedy, light hitting, great fielding CFers. On top of that, James Wood and Dylan Crews are knocking on the door and can both play CF.
