5Bednar likes being in Pittsburgh. Pirates don't technically need terrific closer until they start getting the lead more often. That being said, Pirates could shop him and get quite a haul if clubs compete for him. This return from NY is pretty good.
3 low leverage relievers and an oft injured catcher who is out of options is not a good haul
Schmidt would be like the Pirates #3 SP in 2024
He would go to the bullpen as soon as Skenes, Jones, Brubaker are ready. He is a 2 pitch guy much like Ortiz. He is probably behind Priester except 5 years older. He only started for NYY due to injuries.
He only pitched out of the pen because he was injured. Started every year but 1 of his career. Currently penciled into Yanks starting rotation now
