In 2023, Marcell Ozuna was a more valuable player than Michael Conforto. Even if Conforto was able to have expanded his PA's by 100+ to match Ozuna's pace and taken the field, he still would have been the lesser of the two. Predictions for 2024? I'm taking Ozuna. If it's just hitting and imagining that the surrounding lineup or home ballpark don't factor, it's clearer for me. It's close though. I like Austin Slater. I really like Luis Matos. As it is now, the Giants still have a crowded outfield with Mike Yastrzemski, Jung Hoo Lee, Conforto, Soler, Slater. Heliot Ramos & Luis Matos to AAA. *wave* Joc Pederson. How's Wilmer Flores getting his PA's? Slater for the Braves is off the bench and I hope that'd be good for him. I like his clutch hits. I like his bat flips and lefty on lefty action. Dylan Dodd's also a big lefty. Couldn't he compete for a starting spot in 2024 for this team? I added Cody Milligan just to balance the trade's numbers.
Ozuna is a slug in the field right? No room for him with Soler, Flores and Murphy taking DH reps, Giants need to get more athletic

Marcell Ozuna's not great in LF. You're right. Jorge Soler's not great either. They both can "slug" though. How much better is Michael Conforto on defense than those two? What's the plan for the team without my imaginary trade? I agree, they need to get more athletic and I like a Giants outfield of Luis Matos, Jung Hoo Lee and Mike Yastrzemski. Austin Slater is my OF bench guy. For DH, I'm splitting time between Soler and Conforto. Wilmer Flores is on the bench too, so is Tom Murphy. So, no one really to backup middle infield because it's a full bench. Unrealistic? What else is it gonna be? Maybe Matos is in AAA and Conforto starts LF, until he's hurt. Defending my trade proposal, I'm saying that a combination of LF/DH with Soler and Ozuna's no significant difference for the Giants on defense than primarily going with Conforto's defense. I'm just down on his range and skeptical about his ability to be ready to take the field.
