6This isn't a realistic trade for the Rays. It adds payroll this year, which I just can't see. It also adds an expensive reliever (both salary and trade value), which the Rays never do. Worse, the SS being traded to the Rays is a below average fielder when the Rays demand elite level fielding from their SS.
Dang! I even read your “Rays trade” rules, but couldn’t help adding Doval into the mix! As for Luciano’s defensive acumen (or lack thereof), I was just assuming they’d shift him to a corner spot (like we probably will). And then still sign a wizard on the cheap somehow.
LOL. Trading with the Rays is hard. There are a lot more rules than what I posted.
Ok, well, at least riddle me this, Batman: of the Rays’ thumpers, who would they most likely deal? Aroz? Paredes? JLowe? Or are we going to have to be satisfied with a quest for Harold Ramirez? Giants need someone who will make Yamamoto wish he was back in Japan, soaking in the Ofuro at his grandma’s house…
I would have bet a lot of money at the start of the offseason that Aroz was getting traded, but the Rays have since traded Luke Raley and it seems they are going all in on making Aroz the face of the franchise this year to offset the Franco debacle. So I don't think he's going anywhere. J.Lowe is basically untouchable. On the other hand, I could see one of Paredes, Y.Diaz and B.Lowe getting traded and Ramirez is almost definitely getting moved at this point.
Ok, thanks. Then I’m going after Isaac, since he’s the only one of that threesome who strikes legitimate fear in pitchers’ hearts.
