53B, 2B, 1B, and DH are spoken for in Cleveland. Not the best fit for Cleveland.
Gimenez was the AL Platinum Glove winner at 2B for a team that values defense. I doubt that they move him. 1B/DH is filled with Josh Naylor and top prospect Kyle Manzardo. Why would they block a top prospect that they specifically traded for? It makes no sense for the Guardians to block top prospects when they have definite needs in other areas? Any Clase trade should try to fill those needs, not block top prospects. Not a good use of assets in my opinion.
Gorman doesn’t do much for me. 30%+ K rates scare me. If his value were less maybe, but too expensive. Cleveland is HR starved, but there’s a price to be paid for power and I wouldn’t do it. I’ve seen too many guys like him come and go.
Shortstop and First base are projected to go to rookies next year. Gimenez could reasonably slide over to short, and Gorman could swap between first, second and DH. Gorman would add pop they've been missing since Hafner and Sizemore.
Pretty damn good rookies too. Let's see if Gorman has a better year offensively than Arias. I'm not convinced the difference between the 2 will be that great.
