Brewers turn this down right away. The very last thing they want or need is another OF. Varland looks to have a ceiling as a #4-5/swingman. Just not what Milwaukee would want for Burnes. I also don't see the Twins adding an expensive rental when the word is they are looking to cut payroll.

I assume Milwaukee would want value, right? Rodriguez, if anything else, could be used as another trade down the line. Raya certainly has top of rotation potential, but he is a year of experience away. Varland has potential to either be a #3 starter or a high end setup man. I'm not certain that Minnesota would want to trade him. He's a hometown kid and the team and fans love him. He also has 6 more years of team control, which would be good for Milwaukee. That said, I don't know what would offer. We know Burnes isn't getting extended either by Milwaukee or the team he is eventually traded to. And also, if he is traded after the year starts, the team acquiring him wouldn't get the QO, which also (arguably) would mean a lesser offer coming Milwaukee's way right? I'm curious what the deal that sends him out, eventually, will actually look like. IF he gets hurt in May, that certainly isn't good for Milwaukee either.

Hypothetically, let's say Milwaukee does trade Burnes at some point. What do you think they would need?
