1Would Jansen close? Take the 8th? I prefer a "Bobby Cox" style bullpen where all the relief pitchers have assigned roles to play. I am allergic to "bullpen by committee", that's for struggling teams. For me, if Jansen rejoins the Braves then he's behind Iglesias and Minter to close games. His $16MM for 2024, even with the cash included, is too expensive and such an addition isn't priority as we approach the start of Spring Training. I'd rather Joe Jiménez or Tyler Matzek in the 7th over Jansen, given the money he's owed and the finances the Braves have. I'm in on the jokes about pitching Harper & AA loves his 'pen. But this proposal's just a kinked dream. I don't see it as a fit for what the Braves need and I'll also argue that $8MM, 50%-ish of his salary, coming over in a trade's unusual.
