2Delusional trade. Giants get a switch hitter who can play 3B/SS/2B with decent speed. This also clears up space on 40 man so Giants can make hopefully make more moves.
I’m going to say this trade is unlikely, though possible. It would depend entirely on whether the Rays felt they could turn Stripling into a decent pitcher this year. Rays need a catcher but Bart sucks and is out of options. He’s not much of an enticing return for Walls. Rodriguez isn’t a needle mover either. Maybe with the Rays’ help he can become a decent reliever, but I don’t see him enticing the Rays to move Walls either. The main problem with this trade is that the Rays SS situation in 2024 is so bad that they may be counting on Walls to start nearly 1/2 the season at SS. Trading him for a bunch of nothing burgers isn’t likely.
