3Would the Reds really be willing to trade for Ozuna? Might as well sign Bauer too, how about also trading for Brainer Bonaci? Hopefully, the Reds kill this before it ever gets offered.
The Braves are my favorite team and this trade reflects my bias. I've lusted after Jonathan India, thought he'd be better at 2B than Ozzie Albies. Never liked Marcell Ozuna on the Braves. I think he's a showboat and brazen to have, on the field, already dismissed 2021 & 2022. I'm betting on Ozuna in 2023 to be a better hitter than India, but not by much in terms of WAR. It's a hot take to talk about the Reds having a top rotation in Nick Lodolo, Graham Ashcraft, Frankie Montas, Hunter Greene Andrew Abbott. I don't like the bullpen odds and am down on Nick Martinez and Brandon Williamson. Bryce Elder could be good. Could be good for either Braves or Reds. Maybe the Braves roll the dice on their other SP's for the fifth spot, get free of Ozuna and his salary. I'm unnecessarily tacking on the Ritchie for Duno because it's my imagination of being a GM to always have a promising young catcher in the pipeline.
You don't like Ozuna for his off-field stuff as much as me. I want to make a point of it that he wasn't convicted of anything, never went to trial, and served his 20-game suspension. I mostly don't like him because he behaves like an egotistical bonehead and also that he sucked for two year after he signed with the Braves. Bauer was given a suspension nearly 10 times longer and Bonaci's case isn't looking good either. Defending this trade proposal, I say that if the Reds want some offensive power and are taking risks on starting pitchers (Montas) then how about Ozuna and Elder?
