1Marlins need to build their farm, and they do so with this prospect haul. They also get a salary dump via trading Sandy who, although usually very good, is not a conducive piece for a team that looks to get younger. Padres need an outfielder lefty bat and a starter, and a change of scenery for Sandy could be good for him. Win win trade.
