4Two useful pitchers for roster fodder. Cleveland says no.
I second this!
To be honest I was pretty surprised at the values matching up this way myself. I think Cleveland would be able to get more value than Grove — maybe Knack. Probably not Stone or Hurt or Frasso, unless Cleveland wanted to send cash the Dodgers way in exchange for better prospects. Yarbrough is definitely filler — the Dodgers need the roster spot. Varland could be a useful piece, but again, no room in L.A.
Cleveland easily gets 2 of Knack/Hurt/Ryan and another good prospect for Bieber and Morgan....easily. They'll have no use for Yarbrough at all in this deal unless he's a throw in/salary dump and Cleveland thinks they need another LHRP. I wouldn't allow Yarbrough to cut into Hentges' and Herrin's IP though because they are simply better. TA is absolutely right in saying that this is nothing but roster fodder. It does nothing but hurt Cleveland's roster.
