1No - I just don't see the point of the trade from the O's POV. I guess this would be a "salary" trade, where the Guardians save a few million bucks and get a couple of years of control for Mateo. O's pay more for Rosario for only 1 year of control. So why would the O's want to do this and give up McDermott to boot. Rosario is the better offensive player, and I guess Mateo is considered the better glove at SS at this point. The bad thing about Rosario is that he hasn't played 2B or 3B in the minors or majors (per Baseball Reference), so his Utility value is questionable. Nothing against Rosario, but why would the Birds do this?
