111.6 WAR Suarez swaps places with 1.9 WAR Quantrill. Both are cost controlled. Angels pick up a SS and save the Guardians $9.5 million and throw in a prospect.
Another 2B wow what a help when we have plenty already. I have not heard anything this offseason about a concern about money. Cleveland will keep Quantrill. If Rosario is traded, it will be for space for one of our many middle infield prospects.
You keep bringing up money. I have not heard about any money issues this offseason. They plan to contend in 2023. That is why Cleveland President Chris Antonetti stated on MLB Network Radio that they are not trading Bieber. They are not going to take a step backwards with their starting rotation as your proposal would do.
Hmmm…. Suarez 1.6 WAR in a six man rotation. Cal 1.9 WAR in a five man. Just say you don’t know the Angels players and move on.
Quantrill 15 wins, pitches very well at Progressive Field. Workhorse pitched 186 1/3 innings. Suarez has never pitched more than 109 innings in the majors. I will keep Quantrill. You have a wonderful evening as well.
Whatever. This trade will never happen anyway. Rosario gets flipped for an MLB piece. Have a good one.
I could see a Plesac/Rosario package being sent to the Angels. Plesac could actually be pretty good in LA's spacious park. Cleveland has no need whatsoever for either of these players in this deal. If there aren't better options then a trade between these 2 teams isn't realistic at all.
This 2B doesn’t require a 40 man spot. You definitely have too many middle infielders. We need one.
Trades are supposed to help both teams. This does nothing for the Guardians.
It clears up a roster crunch and opens that space, saves $9.5 million on a player you don’t really need, and adds another year of control over a starting pitcher. There’s value for Cleveland here.
And it adds an infield prospect to help replace the ones Cleveland calls up to the big leagues.
