Brewers pass. They aren't in a position to trade pitching for position players.
I see both your perspectives. My question is what are the Brewers doing this year? Are they trying to make a run or resetting for the future. The Rays are in a similar boat, but seem to have decided on a 1 year reset.
I would do this and sign Hoskins or Votto would solve offence issues.
Getting Paredes to fill a position of need with 3 years of control would be hard for the Brewers to pass up no matter which way the Brewers are planning for 2024. Trading Quero hurts but I understand the Rays needing him in this trade. I think the Brewers would try to hold on to Gasser if possible. He is not a sure thing, but he provides the depth the Brewers need in the rotation. Maybe the Rays would be interested in a different prospect or player. I like Shane's idea of then signing Hoskins or Votto and that would answer our question if the Brewers are going for it in 2024.
Disagree. Corner infield is a need, and can see a trade like this being something they do. Bullpen is a strength and moving an arm from that spot is highly likely, Gasser isn't untouchable if it brings back the bat for the ML roster.
