8Rays already have Siri for CF.
chas is a LF now
Ok then, why would the Rays trade Aroz for McCormick? Both play LF and both are in Arb1, but Aroz has the better and more consistent bat. If the Rays want France, they’ll just focus on him.
because arozarena is on the trade block so in return they get a pretty even bat that can slot in right away and a pitcher with control who's shown good stuff
But he's on the trade block because he only has 3 years of control remaining and is making biggish bank in 2024. McCormick will make less in 2024 than Aroz (because, again, he's not as good), but the Rays will just want to trade him the following year or in 26 for the same reasons. The Rays don't generally seek out trades where the headliner is just a 1-2 year rental. Also, the Rays have L.Raley to play LF next year, who hit 130 wRC+ last year and has 5 years of control remaining. Sorry, but I don't see this trade happening.
mccormick has 3 years and France has 6 not sure what you're talking about, plus mccormick can play any outfield spots when you need him to
Yes, McCormick has 3 years of control. Rays tend to trade players before their last year of control, which means McCormick (the headliner in this trade) would be traded by the Rays in 2 years or less. Rays don't do trades where the headliner is expected to be traded within 1-2 years.
well we'll see about that
