In any Clase trade, Cleveland is looking to get MLB ready offense particularly OF and that is missing big time here as Pages is not ready. I don't see Cleveland trading Clase unless they get exactly what they want.

On the Cleveland side I’m doing this trade in a heartbeat. Knack and Frasso will shore up a SP weakness in 2024+, and the other guys infuse the organization with high end talent. You can never have too much talent! The only question mark is Pages shoulder, and with him I’m sure his value would be way higher without the injury. I would be willing to bet he will come back. If this trade happens in real life every Guardians fan should be thrilled. 2024 isn’t the end all be all…2025, 2026, 2027, etc. all matter, and this trade makes all those years more relevant and competitive.

I hope that you realize that there are also trades that the Guardians can make that would make them better in 2024, as well as 2025, 2026, etc. Not every Cleveland fan agrees with your rebuilding plan. 2026 -2028 is not the end all to be all either. 2024 and 2025 come first and they matter as well. If they want to sell seats, they have to put out a product that fans are going to want to pay for.

I understand your point of view. I agonize after every loss, always have and always will. I’m just a fan that wants a World Series. Although not a finished product yet the 2024 team appears mediocre. Is it capable of winning the World Series? Sure, give it less than 5% chance. What if they traded Clase, Bieber, J. Naylor now for better odds in 2025, or 2026? I just want those better odds. When you don’t have the payroll you need to get creative and sacrifice. To me the sacrifice is likely not being competitive in 2024. Imagine 2025: The core SP is here, add Frasso and Knack gives a solid 1-5. C-B. Naylor, 1B-Manzardo, 2B-Brito (or #1 pick, if ready), SS-Gimenez, 3B-Ramirez, LF-Kwan, CF-DeLauter, RF-Pages. The value for Clase, Bieber, and Naylor will likely not be higher, especially for Clase. Another average year from him will be a wasted opportunity to deal him now. If these players aren’t traded what is the highest upside for 2024? 85 wins, a Central title and then early exit in the playoffs? I just don’t see the point (again). An exciting team in 2025 will bring the fans back. They will come Ray, they most definitely will come.
