2Vlad’s trade value being so low is shocking. There’s no way that the Jays would let him go with his value so deflated.
Yeah, it's because his control is dwindling, he's getting very expensive, and he's coming off a down year. As you can see with his field value number, if he were a free agent on a two-year deal, he'd get about $60M, or a $30M AAV. As it is, he's projected to make $51M in arbitration, so there really isn't much surplus.
