Orioles motivation here is picking up a SP with a high floor with years of control. They also tack on a solid reliever with TC for facilitating this trade. They send a 2B in Norby that is near MLB ready to Seattle and a 1B that can DH in Mountcastle to Chicago. The Mariners also pickup Morel to man either LF or RF, while sending Luis Castillo, Prelander Berroa and Emerson Hancock to Chicago. Chicago takes on all of Castillo's salary.

Twadds

While I don't mind trying to get Morel, Castillo has a no trade clause (could be waived). Mariners are giving up too much pitching depth. Their ace, 1st depth starter and then 2 relief pitches who I'm going say would be both in the bullpen opening day
