2No pitching = no trade. Milwaukee wants pitching not a bunch of maybes for Burnes. The two pitchers they get here are lottery tickets.
As much as I agree with you, how much is a team really going to give up for 1 year of Burnes? As much as Brewers want pitching, teams equally have to be willing to part with pitching and its just not something teams have been doing of late. The Brewers do not want to lose Burnes for nothing and if the right package comes along (without high end pitching), I see them taking it. Why this trade could happen - Brewers need infield help. IF is a big question mark now and in the future. Lots of maybes in their farm system and Turang just couldn't hit anything his first year. Plus add in that Adames is more than likely gone soon as well? This gives them more options with Biggio in the short term and 3 more long term options. Brewers love a good SIRP and/or MIRP. The two coming through here could help the team for years. Will it happen, probably not. But you cannot stick to your no pitching = no trade (unless you work for the Brewers or have inside info)?
