Brewers get Alek Manoah and Spencer Horwitz. Brewers lack a true backup first baseman and Jake Bauers is still a bit of a question mark, so Horwitz could get a good amount of playing time. Manoah slots in as the #3/4 in the rotation and hopes to bounce back. Blue Jays get Garrett Mitchell to play left field and add a higher upside lefty to the lineup. Both teams would be selling low on the main pieces after Manoah's 2023 disaster and Mitchell missed most of 2023 with a shoulder surgery.

Nobody in baseball wants to risk taking Manoah until the Jays figure out what happened to him. The Brewers wouldn't have any interest at all in him in a trade like this. They don't need a backup 1B.

Jake Bauers, your starting first baseman and only primary first baseman on the roster, is bad. Your backup first baseman is Owen Miller, who is also bad. There are no other first baseman on the Brewers 40-man. They might need a starting first baseman by May, let alone a backup. Alek Manoah was a legit ace in 2021-2022. Someone will be undoubetdly interested in him.
