5I don't see Cleveland trading Josh Naylor. Triantos has mostly played 3B or middle infield. Cleveland has Ramirez at 3B and already an overload of middle infielders. Where is the help. Brennan Davis has been a bust to date as well.
Cleveland plays in a winnable division in 2024 and need offense so why would they trade their 2nd best offensive player when they need more offense? I can see an extension with Naylor before I see a trade. Teams are calling and Cleveland will listen, but they are not shopping him. By the way, Cleveland has a top prospect Chase DeLauter who should arrive somethime in 2024 and he can play CF.
Good luck getting the Guardians to spend money on a Naylor extension. Their main motivation for making a deal like this is saving $20 mil combined between Bieber and Naylor. The team has no space in the budget for additions; it needs a larger retool.
No SP in return then no deal. Cleveland doesn't have the SP depth to deal Bieber without replacing him with a couple of ready SP prospects.
Triantos played some CF in the AFL this year and looked comfortable there. Not ready yet but should be pushing the majors by the end of the year. Canario would be an upgrade over Laureano in RF and Davis is buying low on a guy who was a top 30 prospect in baseball pretty recently and just hasn't been healthy recently. Adds 3 OFs to a system in desperate need of them. Naylor's going, if not this year then soon. Better to trade him now when the market is hot for him than in a year when his value will be lower and the market will have guys like Alonso and Soto available for just money.
