3I don't think this deal works for Chicago. The Cubs are in need of relievers, and adding another guy to play a corner OF position currently manned by Suzuki, Happ, Morel and Tauchman (with Canario also needing a spot) would just create more issues.
I think it works because O's need closers with no money attached. And the Cubs need LH bats that can DH if you put them in the field.
Doesn't work for the O's. Not reflected on this site, but Kjerstad is probably ahead of Cowser in the view of the O's (based on Baltimore talking heads). He can really hit. I don't think Kjerstad is a trade candidate. Cowser, Westburg- probably are. Ortiz- 100%.
