This is a pretty well-thought-out deal. While I think it is crazy to overpay for a former prospect you dealt earlier, it isn't without merit. As a Cub fan, trading Morel would hurt, but I think giving up Ferris before his value skyrockets is why his inclusion is a non-starter. Anyway, the Rays need arms and I would put Wesneski in for Ferris and downgrade Alcantara to OF Davis or one of the middle infielder glut.

I think the Rays pass cause Morel is horrible defensively for a team that values defense higher than anybody, Kilian is over priced on here, and Ballesteros more than likely doesn't stay at catcher at the mlb level.

Rays trade nearly $80MM in trade value and don’t come away with a pitcher who improves the rotation for 3-4 years? No thanks. Kilian is a #5 arm if he works out, but he’s probably a middle reliever or even a AAAA player. He’s not very good and definitely not worth $18MM. I like Ferris, but he’s 19 and has a long road to go before he gets to the Majors. This trade is easily rejected by the Rays.
