Quantity over quality trade and the Brewers say no thanks. Houck is a long man in the pen that the Red Sox tried to make a starter with not good results (6-10/5.01 ERA). The Brewers have enough of his type and certainly not the guy they would look for as the major player in a trade like this. Milwaukee doesn't want Drohan or Mata. Madden would be the one guy the Brewers would be interested in.

I really like Madden and believe he will make it big. Neither Drohan or Mata is worth having. I agree about Houck and don't know why his value is so high. He was very good as a long man in the pen, but Boston was desperate for starters and it didn't go well. If the Brewers did this they also would have to use him as a starter. Things could get real ugly in Milwaukee next year if that happened.
