1Yankees swap second baseman with hefty contracts. Padres receive 6m, which would make Lemahieu's AAV 13m. This slightly increases what the Padres pay in 2024, but decreases the total money they'd need to pay to a player under contract by 39m. I could see a trade like this working if they Padres trade Soto and save enough money for 2024. Yankees also get a solid left handed reliever with great peripherals.
