1Yankees and Astros have already discussed a trade involving Bregman, and have had trade discussions in the past. Astros are looking to cut payroll, and Bregman is owed 30.5m in 2024. Yankees get a middle of the order bat with a good glove to play third base. Astros get Oswald Peraza to play third base and Ian Hamilton to strengthen a weak bullpen, while saving 30.5m. Bregman's value is severely hindered by his salary and only 1 year remaining, so the return to the Astros is not going to be massive.
