Okay, this isn't a bad deal for Cleveland... one problem... JD Davis absolutely has no spot on the roster since DH, 1B, 3B are already taken in the lineup... He isn't an OF, though his bat makes 100% sense for Cleveland, there just isn't any ABs for him.

Sounds like you are assuming manzardo will be the starting 1b to start the season. I’m not as convinced. If Mazardo struggles in spring training, then what? I also think he can get some AB’s in the OF.
Cleveland gave up Civale and the FO really pissed off the clubhouse because of it. They really do believe Manzardo will take the spot... Let's say Cleveland doesn't believe Manzardo is ready, this deal does make some sense. Now, I will also say this, Cleveland would want another prospect back since they have both Bieber and Freeman ranked higher than BTV does. I'd say Joe Whitman would be the last target. Would you be okay with that?
That's probably why they picked up Rivas. He's the fallback should Manzardo struggle. Manzardo is likely starting the season in Cleveland. They'll move Naylor to the OF again long before Manzardo. I don't know if you've watched them play, but Manzardo isn't the most agile individual on the field and not nearly as athletic as Naylor. Mason Black should be a target for Cleveland and he's a good start to a deal like this, but JD probably isn't a fit.
