3Yankees need a contact-oriented left handed outfielder. Brewers need pitching with the loss of Woodruff and potentially trading Burnes this offseason, and have a crowded outfield. Clarke Schmidt is a solid 3-4 starter with upside, and threw 160 innings last year. Drew Thorpe won MiLB pitcher of the year last season and is near MLB ready. Richard Fitts had a very good 2023 season, and should do even better out of the bullpen. His pitch mix profiles best as a reliever with starter upside. Brewers trade Frelick to the Yankees to help get pitching back and clears up their crowded outfield.
I think out of all the outfielders we have, Sal is the least likely to go, with Wiemer and Mitchell being a lot more likely. Especially with Chourio coming up in the next couple seasons
You could be right about Sal but a package like this would be hard to refuse. Brewers can then trade Burnes for lineup help. (See Tristin Casas trade with the Red Sox as an example).
