Wassup NickNash! Alex Verdugo was one of Boston's best players in 2023. They're last in their division but the AL East compeition was very, very strong. I think the team's looking to win. There's some very good talent on the team and surely they can patch some holes. Among the 4 guys coming back to the Sox in this trade, I don't get a whole lot of sense that this is a reload for 2024. Do you? Also, where's Verdugo playing for Atlanta? Are they declining on Rosario? I kinda would prefer to keep Rosario and the prospects over a 1 year for Alex Verdugo. If the Braves are trading guys I'd prefer to see them add a SP. Verdugo's not a good fit for ATL, IMO.

I'd like to change my mind. I think I would prefer to see the Braves decline Eddie Rosario and replace him with Alex Verdugo if it's going to be for this trade package. It didn't look good for Michael Soroka's 2023 comeback, maybe it will in Spring Training. Let's see if the Braves go to Arbitration with him. I can't imagine him getting paid close to $3MM. Brooks Wilson's listed as a SP and I think that's an error because according to Fangraphs, he hasn't started a game since 2019. He's thrown less than a dozen innings over the past two years. He's just not about 1/2 the value of Verdugo. The trade's a fun example of a fleecing of the Sox.
