1The site claims "overpay" by the Sox, but it is not. There is no way Sale comes back to anywhere near his former self, and this clears a lot of cap room for the RSox by paying half of the 55 mil due in the next 2 years. The RSox also need a location where Hosmer will agree to a trade. Since he won't play much in Boston, he can mentor Mash Mervis in Chicago. Madrigal still has elite contact potential (high first round pick), and the Cubs need a sweetener to lose a couple of 40 man slots (taking Wu).
