If the Twins really are looking at trading Arraez for controllable pitching, Houck is under contract until 2027. Add in a solid prospect in Mata and flyers on Dalbec and Drohan as well as a backend innings eater in Pivetta and the Twins get some definite post-2023 depth. Sox get the middle infield help they desperately need plus a flyer on Maeda, an expiring contract.

I think the twins would accept this in less then a second. Getting Houck would be a win here, but also getting Pivetta, a really important back end starter in Boston, who was the only pitcher on the team to qualify in ERA. Also getting the Sox best pitching prospect in Mata, that's the biggest win they could get out of Arraez. Doesn't make much sense for the Red Sox to trade that much pitching depth

The Twins are open to trading Arraez for a high end starter that's under control. Is Houck a high end starter and better than what they currently have? Or is he a more of a relief pitcher?
