I like Verdugo ok. He's looking good in 2023. I like a high contact sort of hitter. He's younger than you think too, so maybe there's some power that's yet to show up. He's a guy that I'd like to dream big on but I'm just not sure I can trust in the projections for him. I don't know what to make of him. Is he a heartbreaker? ZIPS thinks he's gonna be great. He has been, so far. I don't know what the plan is in Boston. They're treading water and there's quite a few more games to play. If they have that scrappy fight in them then it'll surely have Alex Verdugo leading the charge. I'd like to cheer for them. Verdugo to the Braves has recently been in at least one trade proposal on this site. I commented with my thoughts about it. To summarize, the Braves need to part with Ozuna or Rosario first and Verdugo needs to be playing better than what he did in 2022 in order to interest the Braves. He's mostly been hovering around a league average wRC+. If Verdugo's hot and Boston's trading him then it's going to be for more than this. Why would Boston want Ian Anderson? He's not going to be contribute this season, for sure, and who knows how he's coming back. Honestly, I'll be surprised if the Braves keep him on the 40-man. How do you figure Anderson fits for what Boston's up to? I don't even know what their front office is doing. I also don't really follow the Sox too closely, just enough to be knowledgeable when I'm hangin' with family in Rhode Island. Spencer Schwellenbach? That's an interesting choice. Did you pick him because it he's a TJ guy like Anderson? I like the upside on Schwellenbach but not enough to trade for him here. What do you like 'bout him? I like a trade proposal that has, at least, a little explanation behind it. Maybe it's a trade made to for the sake of being goofy, maybe it's to be a homer, or maybe it's to call attention to how the algorithm doesn't match up to reality. What's up with this one? My guess is that you and me both like the Braves and Verdugo. However, I'm thinking that the return for Boston's shallow and that makes the whole thing taste bad.

- [ ] Thank you for your response, There are a lot of moving parts to your post so I’m going to try to answer them to the best of my ability. As a fan of the Atlanta Braves I do make trades that probably will not make sense to the team I’m trading with. But with that bias aside I think there’s three main reasons I make a post like this on the site. The first is to have fun. Everyone wants to be a general manager of their favorite franchise and having a site like this allows fans to experience some of the fun things that GM can do and they shouldn’t have to explain themselves because this is Just for fun. The second reason is to address an issue of our team. We have a glaring hole on our team and in left field. With Marcell Ozuna and Eddie Rosario it’s a black hole in our lineup and we need to fix it. And so that is why I suggested this trade. And the last reason you mentioned it is the show how broken the trade logic is on this website. - [ ] Now with the trade package, I think you are right there isn’t enough in this trade package. But it was all I can put in to make this trade happen on the site . with that being said, I think Anderson still has trade value. His rookie year he was dominant and he led the Braves to lots of postseason success and ever since then he has been dealing with injuries that’s why his ERA has balloon and his whip has balloon. But his ability is undeniable Also Anderson is only 24 years old he’s still extremely young and he shows the potential to be a three or a four or a five and a rotation. Unfortunately for the Red Sox they need to start the rebuilding process. They are in a division with lots of good teams 4 of them have the ability to make the postseason I don’t see them making the playoffs with their current roster. according to mlb.com the Red Sox have four players in the top hundred prospects none of them are pitchers. So I am thinking the Red Sox will be open to trade Verdugo for some pitching prospects. I think a trade package with a guy like Anderson and two prospects like swallenbach and maybe Aj smith sawyer this trade will go through. Both side get what they want. Red Sox get a better farm system the Braves get a OF. Lastly, I mean this with no disrespect but no one asked you for a in depth analysis about a hypothetical trade. Like or dislike like the trade like what most people do and move on.
